About Cascade, WA
King County is the home of Cascade, Washington, which is a suburb of Renton and has a population of 7,075 people. There are a variety of different attractions around Cascade that visitors and their families might appreciate and want to visit. Here are some of those attractions.
Visitors and their families can enjoy seeing a collection of vintage aircraft that have been restored to their original condition at the Flying Heritage Collection, located in nearby Everett. There are approximately 30 vintage aircraft in this collection.
The Cascade Loop is one of the most scenic road trips that visitors and their families could take while they are visiting Washington State. This loop starts only 28 miles from nearby Seattle and goes all the way to Puget Sound and runs through the North Cascades National Park, the wildlife filled Methow Valley, Lake Chelan which is fed by glaciers, the somewhat arid Columbia River Valley, and the Cascade Mountain Range.
Visitors and their families will have the opportunity to learn about the history of the radio and electricity at the Bellingham Antique Radio Museum, located in nearby Bellingham. The journey begins in the early 1940's with the invention of the radio. There are photographs of over 1,000 radios on display. The storyline of the development of the radio and electricity spans 11 galleries, six eras, and almost 400 years of cultural and discovery history.
At the Outback Kangaroo Farm, located in nearby Arlington, visitors and their families can become close friends not only with kangaroos, but also with llamas, parrots, flying squirrels, wallaroos, peacocks, pygmy goats, wallabies, and alpacas. This family friendly experience will be enjoyed by the entire family.
Visitors and their families can enjoy such theatrical performances as The Twilight of Yesler Terrace, Bigotry in Bloom, The Madam Who Turned to Stone, Getting on the Beer bandwagon, Faith healers, So Many Valentines, The message on Aurora, My Hope for the Pope, and many others at the Village Theater, located in nearby Issaquah.
At the Miniature World Family Fun Center, located in nearby Blaine, visitors and their families can enjoy miniature train rides, go-cart rides, and 18 holes of miniature golf. The miniature train ride runs through ten acres of miniature golf world, over an 80 foot trestle bridge, and through a 50 foot tunnel, and through the miniature golf course. The members of the staff are all very friendly and there is a snack bar available.
For those visitors who have their children along with them, the Imagine Children's Museum, located in nearby Everett, is an excellent place to visit. This museum offers the children of visitors some 15 different activities including day camps, cartoon corner, the art studio, science sleuths, and many others.
